Bert De Mot

Today, Bert De Mot serves as the CEO of Oxylum, leading the company in its mission to transform carbon dioxide into valuable, climate-friendly products, driving innovation in the climate tech sector. Bert began his journey into climate tech at the University of Antwerp, where he completed a PhD focused on the reactor engineering aspects of CO₂ electrolyzers. His research not only highlighted the technical potential of CO₂ electrolysis but also revealed the growing market demand for sustainable carbon conversion solutions. Motivated by these insights, Bert decided to pursue the commercialization of this promising technology. By the end of his PhD, he co-founded Oxylum, a spin-off company dedicated to scaling up CO₂ electrolysis for industrial applications.
