Mayor City of Antwerp

Els van Doesburg is the Mayor of Antwerp and a member of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA).
In addition, Van Doesburg is the President of Ziekenhuis aan de Stroom (ZAS), the largest healthcare organization of the country, employing over 10,000 people.

In June 2024, she was elected to the Flemish Parliament as a representative for the Antwerp constituency, a position she resigned upon becoming mayor.

She holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in political sciences from the University of Antwerp.
