Hans De Cuyper

Hans De Cuyper has been CEO of Ageas since October 2020. 
Before being named CEO of Ageas, Hans held several senior positions within the Group in both Asia and Belgium. Ageas operating in Europe and Asia, Hans has the insight and experience to integrate the best of both cultures.
Hans joined the Group in 2004 as Director Insurance Management Asia in Hong Kong. In 2007, he relocated to Malaysia to become the Chief Financial Officer of Etiqa Insurance & Takaful, the joint venture between Maybank and Ageas. From 2011 to 2013, he served as CEO of Etiqa and was appointed to the Executive Committee of Maybank, Malaysia’s premier bank.
In September 2013, Hans returned to Belgium and took on the role of CFO at AG Insurance. Two years on, he was appointed CEO of AG Insurance, which role also made him CEO of the ‘Belgium’ segment within the Group.
Hans has a background in mathematics and earned a master’s degree in actuarial science from Catholic University of Leuven as well as an Executive MBA from Vlerick Business School.
In his leisure time, Hans likes to travel and enjoys hiking and cycling in the great outdoors. He is also passionate about all things related to art and technology, such as interior design, architecture, and photography. 

Hans is well-known for his strong advocacy of lifelong learning, a value he seeks to promote within Ageas, which aspires to be a “Great Place to Grow” for its employees.
