Maarten Michielssens

Maarten graduated from Vlerick Business School in 2006 with a Master's degree in General Management. He started his career at Het Laatste Nieuws before founding his first company, Econation, in 2009. Econation, a Belgian cleantech company, focuses on innovative energy efficiency solutions. Maarten led the company for five years before launching his second company, Energyvision.
While building Energyvision, he was also a mentor at  Birdhouse for nearly three years. In 2018, he decided to fully focus on Energyvision, which he still leads today. Over the past ten years, the company has won multiple awards and completed major projects, such as installing solar panels on 50,000 social housing units in Flanders. Energyvision’s board of directors includes well-known figures like Herman Van Rompuy and Karel De Gucht.
