Mieke Laethem

Mieke is an experienced and passionate leader in digital transformation within the maritime supply chain sector. At one of the largest chemical distribution companies, she was responsible for the strategic and operational management of the International Trade Administration unit at the headquarters. She later transitioned to the role of Digital Transformation Leader for the group, where she spearheaded efforts to evolve the organization’s supply chain into a digitally advanced ecosystem.
Before that, Mieke established and led a supply chain management and process excellence practice at a consulting firm, gaining deep insights into business operations and the specific digital transformation needs of the industry.  She was also a guest lecturer for a BaNaBa program International logistics at  UCLL and Masterclass Breakbulk Best practices in Operations at Portilog.
Today, Mieke works at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, collaborating closely with the port community to drive the digital transformation of maritime supply chains to  enhance the efficiency and safety of the collaborative processes, increase the  throughput of cargo within existing port infrastructure, and ensure compliance with the fast evolving regulations.
