Stefan De Wachter

Chief Scientist / Professor of Urology - Antwerp University Amber Therapeutics / Antwerp University

Stefan De Wachter is full professor of Urology at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Antwerp and Chairman of the Urological Department at the Antwerp University hospital in Belgium. He is an international key opinion leader in the field of functional lower urinary tract disorders, and Member of an international expert panel on neuromodulation for pelvic health. He is director of the Pelvic Floor Neuromodulation Courses at  European Continuous Medical Training (ECMT). He is currently Chairman of the International Continence Index on Urodynamics. He authored > 200 articles in international peer reviewed journals and supervised 22 PhD theses. He is board member of "Plaspraat", a Belgian non-profit organization aiming to break taboo around urinary problems by improving knowledge about them. 
He is co-founder of Minze Health, a digital health company based in Antwerp that strives to be a global leader and innovator in urologic, pelvic health and (in)continence care, taking diagnostics to the patient's home.
He is co-founder and Chief Scientist at Amber Therapeutics, a spinoff from the Universities of Oxford, Queen Mary and Antwerp. Amber Therapeutics mission is to develop and deliver breakthrough neuromodulation therapies that can fundamentally transform outcomes in areas of unmet clinical need. Amber Urinary Incontinence (Amber UI) is the company's first therapy aiming to restore normal physiological function in women suffering with mixed urinary incontinence.
