About us
ALTER, alternatives for wine moments
ALTER is a premium, non-alcoholic alternative for aperitif and wine moments.
By combining unripe grapes, and freshly cultivated herbs, we create cuvées with clear aromatic layers and natural length.
Not the taste of wine, but the layered complexity
Our cuvées are crafted with care from field to bottle. We cultivate our botanicals in open soil and distil them without alcohol, allowing each distillate to express its ingredient with purity and precision. These botanical distillates are then composed layer upon layer — what we call botanical layering.
We work with unripe grapes (verjus) from selected varieties such as Ugni Blanc and Grüner Veltliner to introduce natural acidity and structure. This creates an elegant tension between freshness and texture, resulting in a dry, precise and gastronomic finish.
No alcohol.
No fermentation.
No dealcoholisation.
We build flavour — layer by layer.
Pure by design, cultivated in open soil
ALTER is 100% natural — from the soil in which our botanicals grow to the expression in the glass. No artificial flavourings. No preservatives. No added aromas. What you taste is pure, layered and clear: a vibrant interplay of fruit, herbs and unripe grapes, carefully composed into a structured whole.
This approach results in cuvées with natural tension, texture and length — ideal as an aperitif or at the table, where experience and harmony matter most.
An Alternative, Not an Imitation
ALTER speaks the language of wine — in its own way. Our cuvées are made for the moments when one would traditionally raise a glass, without replicating the flavour of wine itself. They offer a new way to taste, to pair and to gather — rooted in craft, guided by nature and defined by clarity.
