Hendrik-Jan Van Der Gucht recently joined PMV as Senior Investment Manager (VC), where he focuses on Aerospace & Defence investments and is currently managing the establishment of the Flemish Defence Fund. He brings an extensive track record at the intersection of defence, aviation, drones, and technology-driven innovation. He began his career as a career officer within Belgian Defence and went on to hold senior management positions at skeyes, Belgium’s air navigation service provider. He later founded and scaled the drone start-up SkeyDrone. Combining operational leadership, entrepreneurial experience, and investment expertise, Hendrik-Jan contributes to strengthening Europe’s defence innovation ecosystem and strategic autonomy. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering Sciences from the Royal Military Academy and an Executive MBA from Vlerick Business School.
