Ihor Malchenyuk is the Director of the Cyber Defense Department at Ukraine’s State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection (SSSCIP), the institution responsible for shaping and executing national cybersecurity policy for state information systems and critical infrastructure.

With more than 30 years of experience in IT — including a decade fully dedicated to cybersecurity — Ihor has helped strengthen Ukraine’s digital resilience through strategic policymaking, hands-on defense initiatives, and international collaboration.

A mechanical engineer by training, he also completed the EXMPLS program in Positive Leadership and Strategy at IE Business School in Spain. Known for his pragmatic mindset and sense of humor, Ihor often jokes that he not only knows most cybersecurity acronyms — he can even explain a few of them.
