In 2023, Karolien became Cyber Security manager of Brussels Airport Company. In this role, she is responsible for defining and implementing the Cyber Security roadmap of the airport, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the Cyber Security team. She drives forward the further development of Brussels Airport Company's security posture, assures compliance with national and sectorial obligations, and facilitates secure airport operations. Karolien has led major certification programs, holds several Cyber Security related certifications, and is an active member of the ACI Europe Cyber Security steering committee. She also contributes to several special interest groups such as CIONet and Beltug's security task force.
