2025: Founding Partner @ Firgun Ventures (https://firgun.vc), the first VC firm focussed on Series A/B Quantum Scale-ups. Firgun is a $250M fund based in London with a global investment mandate and we aim to help exceptional quantum entrepreneurs scale their companies through the early growth stages and towards real economic impact. I am also a DeepTech Angel Investor, and an Expert at Founders @ Cambridge University and a TechStars Mentor. My podcast, Time To Talk Quantum, can be found on all major streaming platforms. 2011: Founder of Culture Trip (CT): for which I raised more than $100+ million, and which I scaled into one of the most successful new travel and media brands in the world, with offices in US, China, Israel and UK, and 100s of staff and contributors all over the world. At our peak, we attracted nearly 20 million monthly visitors to the site and saw app downloads grow to nearly 3 million. Our social media following grew to 8 million, with our videos having been viewed ca. 2 billion times pre-Covid. We won ca. 50 awards, including App of the Day in US and UK by Apple, and 2 Webby Awards. We were a finalist in the TechCrunch Awards for European Tech Startups; included in the Sunday Times Fast Track #100 Disruptors to Watch; and Forbes' list of 5 British Start-ups to Watch. We were also named a Top Travel Site by The Guardian, and the Travel Media’s Consumer Publication Of The Year Award. I was shortlisted for Digital Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018, and CT was named one of the hottest start-ups in the UK by CEOWorld. I was interviewed multiple times by the world's top publications (e.g. Wall Street Journal, FT), TV & Radio (eg BBC), and spoke at the world's leading tech conferences. 2003: Academic Psychiatrist: before CT, I worked at the Institute of Psychiatry in London and in Cambridge, with specific expertise in computational neuroscience and forensic psychiatry. The IoP is ranked 2nd in the world for psychiatry, behind only Harvard University.
