Kurt Callewaert is a leading cybersecurity and digital innovation expert with over 15 years of experience. He spent two decades at Howest University of Applied Sciences in Bruges as a lecturer, researcher, and research manager, where he founded and developed the internationally recognized Cybersecurity program. In 2023, he was named Belgium’s Cybersecurity Researcher of the Year.

Kurt’s expertise spans cybersecurity, digital transformation, AI, AR/VR, Web3, game technology, and GRC, including NIS2, DORA, and CRA compliance. He is an active member of the Belgian Cyber Coalition and is known for combining deep technical knowledge with strategic insight and a strong professional network.

Since July 2024, Kurt has served as Business Line Director Cybersecurity & AI at Capyx NV, driving the company’s vision and innovation in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.
