Leen Vermeersch
Leen Vermeersch is a board director, managing director of Flandrienella, ICF-certified coach, and author, with over 20 years of professional experience in finance and as a former lobbyist. Through Flandrienella, a strategic consultancy firm blending advisory, coaching, and publishing services, she works at the crossroads of strategy, leadership, and the quality of conversations in complex professional environments.
She is the author of De Conversatiedokter, published by academic publisher Acco. The book offers a scientifically grounded and highly practical exploration of how conversations influence decision-making, leadership, and collaboration. Drawing on neuroscience, psychology, and Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Leen shows how small, conscious shifts in language and presence can create better outcomes — in boardrooms, teams, and everyday interactions.
Leen serves as a Vice-President of the Belgian Business Chamber and Board Member of the European Policy Centre. She holds several non-executive director roles, where she brings strategic clarity, governance expertise, and a strong focus on dialogue quality at the highest levels of decision-making.
She is actively involved in Women in Finance Belgium and regularly works with leaders, founders, and teams to bridge logic and emotion, reduce friction in conversations, and unlock collective intelligence.
In addition to her work for professionals, Leen is also the creator of Dora Fontanella, a children’s book series promoting emotional resilience and positive intelligence. All author proceeds support initiatives that strengthen mental resilience in children.
