Marc Vael is a global cybersecurity and privacy leader with over 30 years of experience. As Chief Digital Trust Officer at Esko, he leads a team dedicated to embedding trust into every digital interaction, ensuring Esko’s products, services, and operations are secure, ethical, transparent, and resilient. His work protects customers, partners, and the company’s reputation, making trust a core part of the digital experience.

Beyond Esko, Marc serves as President of SAI.BE, Belgium’s leading IT knowledge association, driving thought leadership across the IT and security landscape. He is also a seasoned speaker, regularly delivering keynotes, moderating panels, contributing to podcasts, and engaging with global CISO communities.

Marc brings his expertise into academia as a long-time visiting professor at Antwerp Management School, Solvay Brussels School, Vlerick Business School, and TIAS Tilburg, mentoring the next generation of security and privacy leaders. His insights have reached audiences of over 17,000 executives across 23 countries. In recognition of his contributions to the IT industry, Marc was elected Fellow of the Hogeheuvelcollege at the University of Leuven.
