Miguel De Bruycker is the Director General and founder of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB), the national authority that protects and strengthens Belgium’s digital resilience. Under his leadership, the CCB has transformed Belgium into one of the least cyber-vulnerable countries in the EU.

A graduate of the Royal Military Academy in Brussels, Miguel began his career as a company commander in Germany before moving into the IT branch of the Belgian Defence, where he implemented network infrastructure across more than 20 sites nationwide. After earning his Master’s in Information Technologies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, he joined the General Intelligence and Security Service, where he established Belgium’s first cyber defence unit.

A pioneer in the field, Miguel authored the country’s first National Cybersecurity Strategy in 2012, laying the groundwork for the creation of the CCB in 2015. Since then, he and his team have played a leading role in managing major cyber incidents and building a safer digital future for Belgium.
