Thom Ruiter is vice president of banking and financial products at Adyen, where he leads the company’s efforts to expand financial infrastructure beyond traditional payments into embedded financial services for global platforms and marketplaces. Based in Amsterdam, Thom brings deep experience in financial services, strategy, and fintech innovation, having previously held roles at Adyen and KPMG. At Adyen, he focuses on enabling platforms to integrate business accounts, lending, treasury services, and other embedded financial capabilities directly into their products — helping companies unlock new revenue streams, strengthen relationships with their users, and modernize how money moves in digital business. Thom holds an MSc in Business Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
