Kris Janssens leads the Visual Effects department at Loom Belgium, the post-production division of Caviar, an Academy Award-winning film studio with offices in Los Angeles, London, Brussels, Paris, and Amsterdam.

His career started in the late nineties at the legendary Belgian Grid studio, working as a compositor, CG artist and VFX generalist.  Over the next decade, he transitioned into a VFX Supervisor role, leading complex film and commercial projects with a sharp focus on visual storytelling and optimizing production workflows.

In parallel, he worked as a photographer and cinematographer across commercial, fashion, and editorial campaigns, refining his understanding of light, composition, and narrative, and training his keen eye for detail.

As Head of VFX, his role blends leadership, strategy, and creative direction, developing scalable workflows, driving seamless collaboration between production teams and directors/cinematographers, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. His leadership style resonates through a strong commitment to building motivated, balanced teams, nurturing growth through mentorship and creating spaces where creativity and accountability thrive side by side.

Over the course of 25 years, he has navigated multiple technological transitions: from film stock to digital, from low resolution masters to 4K,  and most recently, the dawn of machine learning & AI-generated content.
