Kris Janssens is Head of Visual Effects at Loom Belgium, the post-production division of Caviar: an Academy Award–winning studio with offices in Los Angeles, London, Brussels, Paris, and Amsterdam.

He began his career in the late nineties at the legendary Belgian Grid studio, working as a compositor, CG artist, and VFX generalist. Over the following decade, he grew into a VFX Supervisor role, leading complex film and commercial productions and honing a craft rooted in visual storytelling and efficient, elegant workflows.

Alongside his VFX work, Kris built a parallel career as a photographer and cinematographer across commercial, fashion, and editorial shoots. That experience sharpened his sense of light, composition, and narrative, and strengthened the detail-focused eye he brings to every project.

As Head of VFX, Kris blends leadership with creative direction, building scalable pipelines, fostering tight collaboration between production teams and directors, and safeguarding the highest standards of quality. His leadership centers on developing motivated, well-balanced teams where mentorship, accountability, and creative ambition reinforce each other.

Across 25 years, he has navigated — and helped shape — multiple technological shifts: from film to digital, from low-res masters to 4K, and now the emergence of machine learning and AI-driven content.
